The ice in the Northwest Territory rivers doesn't melt quietly. It was breathtaking to see the Dehcho - breaking apart in huge churning chunks, catching the light as it moves, glowing from within, pale and luminous. Flowing north towards the Arctic Ocean. That's the inspiration for this necklace. The labradorite beads were cut in Germany, expertly shaped just enough to catch the light, just enough to glow, but natural looking, like stones pulled straight from a riverbed. Accented with four hand fabricated 22k gold beads, the piece is 20" long. It can be worn with the 18k gold and diamond charm and sculptural clasp in the front or turned so just the beads show for a more subtle look. The 18k gold hook clasp is almost 2" long, simple, functional and easy to use.
A deep yellow 2.53 ct rose cut diamond attached at the base of the hook glows like the warm sun at Summer Solstice. An 18k gold crescent holds a .10 ct white diamond at it's center. This piece is the Sun, moon, ice and light.
20" long, crescent is 7.8" x .5" Labradorite, 18k gold, 22k gold, 2.53 ct yellow diamond, .10 ct white diamond
